Lt Thompson's last words to his platoon
With his dying valediction, he stood there and spoke with confidence and authority while still managing to put others before himself. That is pure, raw, unadulterated love for his men and what it truly means to be a leader. This is a testament to the fine young man and officer he was. I think we could all be so lucky to stare face in the death with such bravery and tenacity. Rest in peace, Lieutenant.

It’s weird how unfunny the 2011 reboot was - same folks, same tropes but zero on the laugh-o-meter. Not sure why they bothered.

1994-97.Absolutely brilliant piss-taking and observational humour by some of Britain`s best actors/comedians/writers.Sadly the highly gifted Caroline Aherne is no longer with us.See her in her own chat show Mrs Merton..to Debbie McGee.."what first attracted you to millionaire Paul Daniels?"...and check her out in the Royle Family Of course with today `s legislation against free thought and speech,we are not permitted to think,create and produce many of the type of sketches used in The Fast Show,because all nationalities,religions,cultures,sexual persuasions,are classed in the same benign light.Especially with the lefty praise-the-prophet BBC.The Left is the new Right!
